Kahane Lodge Rehabilitation Project

Stage 2 of this summer’s work has been completed, the compost was spread over the front lawn areas in November and mid-December a small crew weeded lawn areas, cut the grass/weeds, and spread fescue seed over the new compost areas.

The plan Kahane Rehab plan can be opened HERE.

NPWS will provide plants, guards etc. for this summer’s planting planned for 9-10 March. Thank you to members who have already volunteered but more help is needed.

It is hoped we can include some site rehabilitation at Southern Alps Lodge - Charlotte Pass over the same weekend.

The scope of work each year will depend on the number members who can assist, the weeding and planting days are suitable for children.
If you can help please email Rod. Peile at rod.peile@bigpond.com or Kim Easdale at kim@easdales.com

3rd Stage of the Snowies Alpine Walk is open

The 3rd Stage between Perisher and Charlotte Pass was opened last year, walk in either direction and enjoy the views of the Thredbo Valley, Bullocks Flat and the Main Range. The 13km walk is constructed from elevated grid, paving stones and gravel. The route is excellent and highlights many excellent views. Allow plenty of time to experience the best of this walk. If you are walking end to end it is helpful to have a vehicle at the finish to pick up your drop off vehicle.

Stage 4 is a 12km section from Perisher to Bullocks Flat has commenced and is due for completion in Spring 2024.

See NPWS website for project information and the January 2024 Update.
